Paper Artsy Tags

I really enjoyed this months Hels Angels swap theme which was Paper Artsy. I used various distress inks, daubers and glossy accents to get the effects, some went a bit wrong but I liked the way they turned out anyway so that was fortunate :)

Mothers Day Card

I thought I would try and be organised this year so I have made Andy's mums card early! I covered a square card with some Basic Gray paper, I then asked Andy to choose a stamp that he thought his mum would like and he chose this lovely image, I really like her, so I was pleased. I prepared some plain white card, rounded the corners, distressed it with Antique Linen, I then stamped it using my favourite versafine vintage sepia. I coloured in the flowers and hat ribbons with some watercolour pencils, tied on an organza ribbon and stamped the text. Andy likes it so I hope his mum does to!

Love and Romance

I made 3 atcs for this months rubber stamped challenge which was `love and romance'.

Well I really enjoyed making this one! I used some new PaperArtsy stamps that I won on Ebay, stamped them onto some fancy paper and then found a little heart stamp which I stamped using red ink. I then got my glossy accents out and highlighted the little hearts - I was really pleased with the effect!

This one uses a free stamp that was on a Craft Stamper magazine. I prepared some mountboard by dabbing fired brick over it with a little bit of peeled paint around the edges. I then stamped on the image using my vintage sepia versafine pad (I use this ink an awful lot). I then mounted this onto an atc which I had covered with fancy paper and finished off with some sticky ribbon flowers which I ran along the bottom!

This one was a real experiment because its the first time I've used the masking technique! I've not done it very well cus you can see gaps but it was fun to try! The stamp was a really cheap foam one that I bought years ago, I stamped it with my chalk inks several times using red and different shades of purple (the colours haven't scanned very well) and then I used different phrases to stamp into the hearts again with the vintage sepia (its not green - honest)!

Sunday Stampers

Well this week's challenge was a monochrome theme so I made this tag using a stamp that I bought from Heidi on Wednesday night! Its not great but I seem to have a creative block at the moment :(

A card for Kelly

This afternoon I've been making birthday cards and this one is for Andy's niece. I enjoyed making this card because, although you can't tell from the scan, its actually a fancy fold one which I took from the february issue of Craft Stamper magazine. I put some DCWV sticky ribbon down the right hand side and on the left hand side I took some black cardstock and cut it with my rotatrim using the scallop blade. I then stamped my lady with no legs and coloured her in with my pink glitter gel pen and matted the image onto black card. I stamped the greeting and matted this as above. I did make a bit of a boob as I put DST down both sides of the image but luckily I noticed in time otherwise she wouldn't have been able to open the card - oops!

A Card for Linda

This one is for Andy's sister Linda. I used some nice decorative paper which I covered a blank white card with and then I found a matching tag and folder from an old TSV kit that I got. I stamped the tag with a message and threaded some fibres through a hole that I made at the top with my cropadile. I put some matching paper onto the folder and then put a flower and brad on top. Finally I added some lovely sticky jewels to the bottom - hope she likes it!
